Job Summary:
The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will oversee all mechanical systems of the Cassava Starch Processing Factory in Kamuli. The role involves ensuring equipment reliability, planning and executing maintenance schedules, supporting commissioning and leading mechanical troubleshooting during operations to achieve optimal plant performance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee mechanical installation, operation and maintenance of the starch processing equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
- Troubleshoot mechanical faults and ensure minimal downtime.
- Supervise and mentor maintenance technicians and operators.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental and quality standards.
Academic Qualifications:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience and Competencies:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in food, agro-processing or industrial manufacturing plants.
- Strong knowledge of pumps, conveyors and rotating equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership and analytical skills.
